The Best Platter

My husband and I love to try local food and especially seafood when we are on the holidays. While staying at the Outrigger Resort at Hervey Bay we decided to try the Cafe Balaena on the waterfront. We were seated outside on the wharf overlooking the Urangan Marina where the boats to Fraser Island leave from. Looked after on by a really nice young guy who was also was the entertainment for the night with piano. We ordered a Seafood Platter and a nice crisp white wine and settled into this amazingly huge platter of fresh a dozen oysters , a dozen prawns, two sand crabs, two bugs and two pieces of fish, some mussles with fresh tropical fruit and flowers. This was the most amazing meal we have been served in any place we have been so far. There was so much fresh seafood on this platter that we could not eat it all even though I tried my best . An awesome restaraunt and great service. We can recommend Cafe Balaena at Urangan Wharf.
